Rating: PG-13 for swearing. :B
Summary: Fluff, partly as a gift for Jenks for making me awesome art. C:

The glowing red tip of his cigarette hissed as it died, coughing up a last clawing finger of smoke to rake the air before it submitted to its end. The cigarette was then flicked by nimble fingers into a near-by trash, smoky azure eyes wandering free from the target. Spy could still taste the cigarette's gift on his tongue, its tang a constant companion to him. More constant than anything else in his life. A breath tainted with the smell of his closest friend left his smooth thin lips as he contemplated how he had gotten here.

"The hell's takin' them so long, jeezus." Scout complained, a grimace twisting his mouth as he continued to pace.

"Perhaps zey are making themselves look presentable." Spy eyed Scout with a mix between a wrinkle of the nose and a smirk "Unlike you."

"Nobody said anythin' about dressin' up Spook. Besides, you ain't wearin' anythin' different." Scout crossed his arms while scowling at Spy. They never got along well at the best of times, no matter how hard they tried to deal with each other, their girlfriends being best friends didn't change that a bit. In fact it made them worse.

"Zat is because I always dress properly." Spy rolled his eyes at Scout's naivety "Once again your knowledge of women, or more your lack of knowledge, astounds me. Eet does not matter if it iz a formal occasion or not, ze female creature will always make herself look appealing to ze best of 'er abilities."

"Ah, shows what you know Frenchie. My girl doesn't give a shit about any of that-" he paused, blinking when the afore mentioned 'uncaring girl' entered with her 'wife', neither Scout nor Spy understood this and tended to just ignore it when they called each other that, looking slightly sheepish. Spy's lips quirked triumphantly upon seeing Tori, though Jenkins was for the most part in usual attire. It still counted as being right.

Scout's cyan eyes widened slightly in surprise and the confidence in what he was saying vanished upon finding his girl in a black dress that stopped mid-thigh, tan tights, and black flats. There was a light blue tank top beneath the dress as the neck went in a far too low 'V' and really it wasn't horribly dressed up but still definitely not her usual wear.

"She cleans up nice, doesn't she?" Jenkins snickered in amusement while crossing the room to Spy, who straightened from leaning against the wall at her approach.

"As I'm sure you would ma petite." Spy took her hand, a nearly cat-like grin teasing the corners of his mouth as he brushed it to her knuckles "Perhaps you should try it."

Jenkins swallowed; blinking a few times before saying, voice slightly strained "Only in your dreams beebs. Besides, this is just… a casual get together. She just wanted to show off a bit for him."

"Zen I will just 'ave to convince you to show off for me." Spy purred in response and Jenks opened her mouth slightly before shutting it, at a loss at how exactly to respond to this.

While this was going on Tori had shyly approached the still-starring Scout, uncertain as to whether the starring was good or bad "Too dressed up?"

"No! Well I mean kinda but… ya look good." Scout shook off the surprise and grinned slightly at her as she got nearer. The grin widened slightly when she blushed and smiled.

Spy looked over at the other couple, the suave smile nestling on his mouth seeming innocent as he called "You look wonderful ma cher. Perhaps next time you can persuade Jenks to join you."

The smile took a cutting edge, not only because of his next words but the deepened blush on Tori's cheeks and the glare shot his way from Jenkins "For zis I can attempt to make your boy look like less of a street rat and more of a gentleman."

The younger girl's eyebrows raised in mild surprise, having obviously not been expecting this, while Jenks just snickered less at Spy's words but the expression on Scout's face. Shock morphed to the rage of the ego-wounded and he bared his teeth while taking a threatening step towards the Spy. Tori put a hand on his shoulder in a gentle attempt to calm him down but he only clenched his fists and snapped "Jenks, do me a favor. Since you're the only one the Spook seems ta listen too, tell the fag I ain't afraid ta punch his face in."

This only made Jenks snigger harder and Tori pressed her lips together in an attempt not to do the same while annoyance glinted in the Spy's steely eyes for a moment "Ze reason I don't listen to you iz because if I listened to every word that dribbled from your mouth I would lose 'alf of my brain cells."

"Boys." Broke in an exasperated tone before Scout could open his mouth to issue a retort and start forward to do as promised. He looked at his arm to find Tori, her lips twisted in a not amused fashion, as she glanced between the two of them "We came here to relax and have some fun. Not a battle of the testosterone."

"Actually I think this could have fun-potential." Jenkins spoke up with a wicked grin and Spy emitted a soft snort.

Tori gave her best friend a mildly incredulous look, raising her eyebrows "Not helping sweets. I don't want to spend my evening arguing with Medic over injuries."

"She iz right, zis iz supposed to be a relaxing night off." Spy inclined his head in a bow "I will agree to being civil."

Scout opened his mouth, his furrowed brow making it clear he had no intention of complying, but he paused and looked back down at Tori momentarily before groaning, tensed shoulders relaxing. "Alright, fine." He muttered under his breath in irritation "Fuckin' Spook."

Jenks shook her head with a snort, crossing her arms as she said to Spy "Yeah you agree to not fighting now but after dealing with him for long enough I bet you'll reconsider."

"Oh come now chéri, don't you trust me?" he leaned in closer to her with his Cheshire Cat-like smile that Jenks never could decide whether to shiver or melt to.

Luckily for her she was saved having to answer this question by a burst of very angry Southern drawl from the entrance into the room "Them rat bastard REDs made idiots outta us!"

The group of four looked over to find Engineer stalking their way, angled jaw clenched in fury and brow furrowed behind his goggles. He was waving a white sheet of paper with something on it but he was wiggling it too much for anyone to make much out of it. The nearly seething Texan came to a stop while Tori asked "What's wrong Engie?"

"What's wrong, lil' miss, is we got duped. This ain't their intel." Engineer held out the paper for them all to look at. Jenkins scoffed a laugh at the paper with two kisses on it, lips of cherry red and lips of gleaming lilac purple.

"Fils de pute." Spy hissed under his breath, mouth forming a grimace as he rubbed the bridge of his nose in irritation.

"Those fuckin' cockfags! That is some gay shit right there, what the freakin' hell?! I nearly got my head shot in by a fuckin' sentry for that?" Scout swore several more times, throwing his hands up in the air while his face pinched in anger.

Engie retracted the paper, looking Tori over and seeming a bit sheepish "Sorry ta be ruinin' yer night and all, jus' thought ya'll should know."

"That's alright Engie. Thanks for the heads up." Tori said with a slight smile. He tipped his hat before leaving them to processing the not so great news.

"Well I suppose zere iz nothing we can do until tomorrow." Spy spoke first with a sight shrug of his slender shoulders "We should not let eet ruin our evening."

Scout rounded on Spy, looking mildly incredulous as he replied "Our entire day jus' got wasted and all you gotta say is we shouldn't let it fuck up our evenin'?"

"Iz eet any different zen any other day?" Spy inquired calmly, raising an eyebrow at the younger and more easily angered man.

Scout opened his mouth to reply before realizing this was quite true and his anger deflated slightly as he mumbled "Yeah yeah, I guess. Still sucks though."

Tori had been frowning and watching Scout through this exchange, head tilting to the side slightly, and she finally said "What's on your arms?"

"Huh?" Scout blinked and looked down at his arms then realization dawned on his angled features followed by an almost nonchalant look as he shrugged "Jus' some bruises. Had a run-in with the RED's Heavy while I was getting' their briefcase. Guess I fought the lug fer nothin'."

"Just some bruises?" Tori repeated, vaguely incredulous while looking over the various blotches of prune-purple mixed with muddy-brown "Christ. I hate to see what you call scratches."

Scout smirked in amusement at this, azure eyes gleaming almost triumphantly "Wassa'matter babe? Ya worried about me?"

Her cheeks burned slightly and she scowled in slight frustration "You got yourself beat up by a giant fucking Russian and nearly got your head taken out by a sentry for fake info. I'd say that's a little worrisome."

Jenkins shook her head with a slight grin while Scout got defensive over her saying 'beat up', claiming he'd taken the Heavy down seconds after, and nearly jumped upon realizing Spy was right next to her as she hadn't heard him move. In an attempt to gloss over this she said "What about you Frog, ya got some bruises under that mask of yours?"

Spy's lips pursed slightly at the nickname which only made Jenkins smirk and he answered dryly "Maybe, maybe not. But since I never take eet off, you will never know petite."

"So you're tellin' me that nobody here knows what you really look like?" Jenkins raised an eyebrow at him, not seeming completely convinced.

"Not a soul." He answered softly and with full sincerity, sharp blue-grey eyes latching onto hers momentarily. She swallowed, heart flailing frantically. She felt trapped in his eyes, trapped in him. She still had no idea how it was that she could be afraid of him but enthralled at the same time. He drove her absolutely crazy sometimes, most of the time, but somehow… somehow that just made her want to be with him even more. She gathered up her strength and tore her gaze from his, eyes flicking to Tori whom she knew felt not entirely the same about her predicament but close. Two of the same, as always.

"Okay fine, whatever, you were the hero and took down the Heavy, dodged bullets, all to get the intell." Tori snapped slightly, turning her back on Scout and walking towards the wall, muttering in annoyance "Just be more careful."

"Aw, c'mon babe, ain't nothin' gonna be able ta catch me fer long." He reached out and grabbed her arm, gently tugging her around to face him and grinned down at her "Don'tcha trust me?"

Tori's eyes widened slightly and she swallowed, blanching and starting to back up as she stumbled over her words "That's sort of what I'm worried about, I mean, not in the 'you not getting hurt' sense because that's a good thing but more in the 'nothing being able to catch you long' sense because even if I do manage to catch you, which I'm not good at whatsoever, there's no guarantee I'll be able to hang onto you."

She continued rambling nervously, Scout raising an eyebrow while looking mildly amused as he followed her in her attempts to back up "I mean, it's not like I want to hang onto you if you want to go or anything because I don't want you to be unhappy but at the same time I can't tell if this is just some short fling that'll end when you get bored because if so I have to decide whether I want to enjoy it while it lasts or not let myself get wrapped up in something that'll just crash and burn."

"As for trust I'd love to believe that you really had an interest in me but I find that highly improbable and therefore…" she paused when her back hit the wall and she pressed against it, cheeks burning furiously as Scout placed his hands on either side of her head, keeping her there "I can't say with full certainty I do. I can't say anything for certain with you around, you bugger me up and it drives me crazy but at the same time it just makes me want to stick around. Even if this is all just for fun for you or--…"

"Babe. Ya talk too much." Scout chuckled with a shake of his head before taking matters into his own hands and stopping her embarrassed babble by pressing his lips to hers. Her eyes widened, checks flushing even darker and she stood there for a moment looking unsure of what to do. Jenks was snickering off to the side while watching this, now grinning and giving her friend the thumbs up. Tori wanted to be angry over this but her mind was being eaten by warmth and delight that bordered on the edge of being stupidly so and she couldn't think straight, eyelids fluttering agitatedly to a close.

"Let's just hope he's as fast at gettin' her clothes off as he is runnin'." Jenkins drawled sarcastically and Spy emitted a snorting laugh of mild surprise at the comment. Scout took one of his hands off the wall to flip her off before moving both hands to Tori's hips to bring her closer. Jenks sniggered, unflustered by his gesture before shaking her head and starting to turn towards Spy "Well this is fun."

Her brow furrowed when she found that there was suddenly a mouth on hers and large hands grasping her hips when she was quite sure that neither of this things had been there before, nor had she really seen them appear. It took her brain a moment to scramble and catch up to what was going on and finally it clicked that the ridged nose bumping into hers was Spy's. 'Well fuck.' She thought to herself as sizzling heat slid through her and infiltrated her mind before she could think through anything else. Because of this she had no idea how long she stood there, rooted to the spot and unable to move her numbed muscles, until Spy gently broke it, placing a small peck on her mouth like a signature before straightening. He looked like a cat that had just trapped its mouse, smooth lips curving in a Cheshire Cat smile.

Jenkins felt dazed and confused momentarily, mind still floundering in the pleasure-infected fog in her head, before forcing through it to punch him in the arm "The hell was that?"

"I thought you should like to compare which of us iz ze better kisser later." Spy answered nonchalantly, looking down at his gloved fingers idly "Izn't zat what women do together?"

Jenks opened her mouth to retort but she was interrupted by a smack and an angry "If you really think getting yourself hurt will make this happen more often-"

Turning, Jenkins found Tori and Scout had stopped kissing and Tori had smacked his arm over something he said, glaring up at him while her cheeks still burned brightly. Scout just laughed, brushing back her bangs from where they were hanging slightly in her face "I was kiddin' babe, loosen up. Ya cute when ya angry though."

"Nice try hon. But if you get yourself hurt just to get me mad all I'm going to do is dump your ass with Medic." She grumbled at him, moving around him and heading over to her best friend.

"And just because we're chicks doesn't mean we jabber like idiots over who has the better kisser, we're not high school sluts." Jenks added while joining Tori as the two stalked off towards the door. "For the record, Spy just totally owns. Just saying." She muttered to her friend as they walked.

"I bet Scout was rougher." Tori answered with a small grin, casting the taller girl a sideways glance.

"Oh-ho-ho, really now?" Jenks looked interested as they headed out the door, arm-in-arm and heads close together as they murmured.

"Aw c'mon, wait'a sec-" Scout began going after them but Spy caught him by the shirt with a hand, the other reaching into his vest pocket to pull out his tin of cigarettes while Scout scowled "The fuck're you doin'? Lemme go!"

"Women are testy creatures mon ami." Spy said in a conversational tone while flipping open the tin and letting go of the boy's shirt to select a cigarette "Zey will not react kindly to being chased."

He produced a lighter from the same pocket, gloved thumb striking a small golden yellow flame into life. Cigarette held between his slender lips he held the undulating flame to the end and inhaled deeply, the thing hissing as it's tip flared fiery red. The smoke trickled from his mouth in small groping fingers that licked the air as he pocketed the lighter and reached up to take the cigarette between two fingers, deep blue eyes misted with grey glinting as he looked after where the girls had disappeared "If you want zeir trust you must wait for zem to come to you."
LONG FLUFF IS LONG.

Okay, I really wasn't planning on it being this long but it was fun so I don't care. xD

This is all based around the song 'Don't Trust Me' by 3OH!3 and apart from the chorus there's two lines from every verse intertwined throughout the story. Most of them are in order, I think the first one is the only one that isn't. ANYWAY.

This is sort of a gift for my BB =DemonicSora, as I mentioned, because she made me THIS THING OF AWESOME: [link]
